What if we did something more serious...

Kyle wanted to go back to this idea he had been throwing around. He wanted to do somethign that captured the fleeting first few hours of infatuation. The feeling of when you meet someone new, you make a connection, and your evening is filled with magic. He and Brady took a few swings at how to work this into a full story, but nothing satisfying stuck. The closest they had ever gotten to something was a story about 2 couples meeting for the first time and an evening they spent together at an outdoor arts festival. It was a romantic comedy, but every draft lacked joy. They called the idea 'Four hearts', stuck the idea in a folder, and put it away.

After Just What I Needed had premiered Kyle and David Spitzer moved back onto finishing David's Batman fan film. Once that project had been completed life just sort of started moving along and it seemed like getting another film project off of the ground was going to require much more effort, and money. Occasional meetings would happen and ideas would be thrown around, but nothing ever felt like it was the right move. A few short form videos were created and posted to YouTube, which was still in it's infancy. 2005 moved into 2006, and 2006 moved into 2007 and life changed, a lot for everyone.

Sometime in early 2008 Brady and Jamie were driving around town and started talking about how to get back into the long form narrative game and felt that possibly taking another stab at 'Four Hearts' would be worth the risk. They called Kyle up, who was working remotely on a project for his job, and pitched the idea to him. Kyle bit, but wanted to take the idea and make it more dramatic, and tell it from the perspective of a female protagonist. Over the Spring of 2008 Kyle worked on the script as brady and Jamie worked on casting. The name of the project was changed to 'For hearts' to reflect the narative shift in the story.

Production took place over the Summer of 2008 with a premiere set for November of 2008. Due to an unfortunate set of technical setbacks in the final hours of post production the film did not make it's premiere date. A later premiere was set at the 2009 Outhouse Film Festival, where the feature played out of competition.
