In 2005 we followed around a group of Baton Rougians in their weekly lives and recorded their on-goings. What set these people aside from all others was their enthusiastic love for four hours of music and dancing on Thursday nights. What happens on Thursday nights on Baton Rouge you might ask? Nothing short of a cultural phenomenon. Since a cold Thanksgiving night in 2000 DJ Bird (Chris Culotta) has been giving the people of Baton Rouge a release from their daily lives through the power of music and dance (and some cool stage lights). Those people in turn showcased their love for the decade of excess with creative dress and action. Our film JUST WHAT I NEEDED documents these interesting individuals as well as detailing a history of STAR 80 (aka: 80s night) and giving a unique view of the city of Baton Rouge.

Four years and some awards later we are bringing JUST WHAT I NEEDED to you via the magic of the internets. Watch and enjoy!

Welcome to the new and improved Crane Films.com. You’ll notice quite a few things have changed here, for starters we finally got with the times and made a Web 2.0 site just when Web 2.0 up and died. No matter. You’ll find a lot of new cool features on this version of the site. For starters we are using the sociable plug-in so that you can share anything you find on here with your friends via Facebook, Digg, Twitter, etc. Feel free to spread the word around. Secondly you’ll notice that our latest feature For Hearts is available to view right now. That’s right, the whole thing. We are working to get all of our past features on-line by the end of the year. From now on you will be able to watch anything we make right here on CraneFilms.com. We will be offering premium versions of the movies for sale with extra features at some point in the future, but for right now enjoy For Hearts! Lastly we will have some news on our next production coming in the near future. It is still in the early planning phase and when we are ready to talk about it we will do so right here.
